Riptides eliminated in first round
The Rebels beat the Riptides in sudden-death overtime, Tuesday night, 5-4. With the loss, the second-place Riptides have been eliminated from the playoffs.
Captain Chris LaRue (#3) led the scoring with a hat-trick and an assist. Hank Durkee (#44) had a goal and an assist, and Mike Littleton (#19) and James Bolstridge (#24) picked up assists.
Jon Graney (#21) stopped 23 of 28 shots. The Tide took 39 shots of its own.
The Tide ended the season with a regular season record of 10-2, and a playoff record of 0-1.
The Riptides will sit out the summer session and return for the fall season. The fall season is currently slated to start around the second week of September, 2002.
